So why are we not out raged as a community, when everyday some young black male is gun down in the streets? But become up in arms when a white male kills one of our own, as to somehow suggest we’re ok with the killings being dealt by the hand of another black male. While we lose two our youth simultaneously per incident. What’s really ailing our community, why are we so desensitized about this epidemic taking place right before our eyes on a regular bases?
Countless murders without a peep from the NAACP,100 Black man, Black Masons, churches just to name a few. No prosperity preaching over the life of our youth, our future or our communities. But the world goes on one accord for the death of Trayvon Martin R.I.P., not to take anything away from that young man’s death or his family, but you get my point if not think about this.
“In America, the lives of young black people are cheap, unless they happen to fit the right agenda”
“If Martin had been shot by a black classmate, if he had been caught in a random crossfire, if he had looked at a gang member the wrong way, his death would have been relegated to the back pages of the local newspaper. Not a cause, not even a curiosity: Just another dead young black man. Nothing to see here. Please, move on.”
After reading this article by the gentleman I quoted above. Not only did it get me to thinking. It reminded me of how my mission to “do something” other than just talk about it being a problem, has been amped up with the use of my media platform getting right to the source of the issues Our babies NEED the proper nurturing to grow! Warning!!!!! REALITY CHECK!
There’s levels to this madness School To Prison Pipeline Which is fueled ( the collective madness ) in my opinion by the “invincible”mindset that doesn’t get channeled probably to productivity, and that “fear of living, not afraid of dying” which is the prevalent motivator among our young men. What’s your thoughts? Keeping in mind this has been done on purpose by an unseen hand ( Guns readily available ).
The being ” desensitized about this epidemic” is on us as a community, the whole not getting involved, just sitting back with the doing nothing approach that one two ours. Remember to do the same thing over and over, and expect different results is insanity!!!! All you hear, instead is “Stop the violence” and still nothing is done. Somehow magically it suppose too cease on it’s own. While yet another brother, father, uncle, son, friend and husband are killed!
Here’s a thought, a hand has five fingers when made into a fist, it has the most impact. Hint to the great guest over the years ( Check the guest list for yourself ), and ALL the organizations working in and around our communities, that being the black community across this country. What are you waiting for to happen it’s happening, or on to pull together and fix this National Crisis?
